Mariusz Duda, the front man for Polish prog-metal act Riverside, has released his first solo album, titled Lunatic Soul. The disc examines the afterlife, the voyage beyond and what we may leave behind. The 10 songs are suitably dreamy, somber and beautiful. Duda’s voice melts around the music, drawing you in. The arrangements are cool, too. Some tunes, such as “The New Beginning,” with its wonderful use of flute and percussion instruments sound like exotic Native American music.
