Deep Purple – Loosen My Strings video

by TW on December 3, 2008

Deep Purple’s first album with guitarist Steve Morse, Purpendicular, is a sadly overlooked album. Released in 1996, it has better songs than anything Purple had done since 1984’s Perfect Strangers. And Ian Gillan, as well, wrote some killer lyrics. “Loosen My Strings” is one of the album highlights.

I grew up with Deep Purple in the 60’s and 70’s. Their early stuff is classic. Still, I find that Perpendicular is one of their best albums if you aren’t just concerned about living in the past. It is a testament to their talent and longevity, even without Richie on the guitar. Even today I still love ALL their music.
